An exceptional place for your baby to thrive and grow
the babies program at BELC.
The program in the Babies room is based on the Early Learning Framework. Our first priority is for children to feel part of a safe and secure environment. The learning outcomes for children in this program are to develop
- A strong sense of wellbeing
- A strong sense of their identity
- Connections with their world
- Confidence and involvement in their learning
Individualized care
Our Babiesgroup includes:
- Independent, teacher-directed, and small-group activities that encourage investigation, exploration, and discovery
- Learning approaches that adapt to each child and incorporate their strengths and interests
- Curriculum that supports creative expression, literacy, music, and more
- Confidence-building opportunities to solve problems and make decisions
- Safety, security, and cleanliness practices that meet or exceed all state, local, and national guidelines
DEVELOPING MOTOR SKILLS
One of our major goals is linked to the progress in developing basic gross motor skills for the babies. We provide different physical activities to help the children to develop their gross motor skills such as crawling, jumping, rolling and catching balls and dancing amongst others.
SENSORY LEARNING
We encourage and support curiosity by setting up a safe and spacious environment that can be explored. Sensory play activities are introduced as well as natural environments indoors and outdoors.
EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION
We explore sounds and movement patterns, sing songs, chants and rhymes. Literacy skills are introduced by reading stories, naming objects and colourful pictures using different kinds of resources.
